me with game changer lore
what really hurt me was how many people said “it’s unfair theyre making us pay for something we never wanted!”
that stupid “all we wanted was you” post went around as if the commenter was in the right, but like. Fuck man. I can’t imagine the feeling of putting your heart and soul into something, putting all this effort in, only for the people who for years had been telling you they loved it to turn around and say all that work was something they never wanted in the first place. That it means nothing to them, and that you’re a piece of shit for assuming some people did.
Like I understand some people can’t afford it, but The amount of people outright saying that their work and passion was worse than worthless, and that they’re idiots for assuming their fans liked their work, made me feel horrible and I’m not even the one creating it.
god literally. like you said it perfectly.
i cant even know how much it hurts to hear that their hard work is utterly worthless to many people. and this isnt even remotely comparable, but i love editing videos. it’s what i like to do as a hobby and i love posting them for people to enjoy. but sometimes it hurts when i dont get the traction or reactions i want. thankfully, i havent gotten anything negative. so i’m just imagining how painful it must be to hear that their creative work, something they enjoy putting effort in and want to improve in, doesn’t mean anything to the community they entrusted their work with.
like do people even realize how they sound? it’s crazy
Like i just really want to explore the idea of Kakashi actually getting the opportunity to search for answers after tobi told him, Tebzo and Naruto about the uchiha massacure
Kakashi using his Anbu skills to dig up information and find dirt on Danzo and the elders, and feeling sick to his stomach when he realizes that it was all true.
Him getting to the land of Iron just in time to see Danzo and Sasuke fighting, and hearing Dabzo order him to fight sasuke in his place, as if he ever even cared about protecting danzo in the first place (he did not)
And instead of even acknowledging what Danzo told him he looks at Sasuke and apologizes. Bows his head and apologizes for not knowing the truth. For thinking that the people he followed were good, when clearly they were capable of some of the most cruel evil
Danzo yelling at Kakashi to do his job as a Konoha shinobi, and Kakashi firing back that he is doing his job by allowing Sasuke to take out the trash.
Danzo still trying to use Karin as a shield, but Kakashi grabbing her out of the way just in time, maybe taking some damage from Sasuke’s attack in the process, because Danzo has taken enough innocent people down with him

i think it’s fine to have criticised their decisions and be forgiving to their response. it’s what they wanted. it isn’t “crawling back to them”. you can still have been a dedicated fan and felt this way. they even admitted they messed up a little bit wrt saying everyone could afford it.
but if you were horrible to them, like wishing their downfall, calling them stupid names, being outright racist and disgusting about steven, or basically anything beyond criticism of watcher.tv, i don’t think you should come back.
i don’t know how half of these people could call themselves fans; you didn’t HAVE to follow them to watcher. so many people made out like it was a chore to support their videos and they “preferred buzzfeed stuff anyway”. well. you didn’t ever have to be here? they had set out their intentions for their content to be different to that of buzzfeed, had show trailers so you could decide if it’s for you, and it’s been 4 goddamn years!!!! why the hell are you still around if you don’t like their stuff????

people are saying “finally” or “they took too long” …. i did NOT want a next day update. the fact that they waited a few days shows they made proper business decisions that included a lot of debating. if anything it builds my trust in this new direction rather than destroying it

Happy 32nd birthday to my sibling @awesomepaste who requested Boromir and Faramir being happy for their birthday present. And why shouldn’t they get to be happy?

glad watcher responded and chose a plan that works for a lot more of their audience and still allows them to keep more control of their content on a different site they can get funding from. i think it addresses a lot of the fair and justified criticism I saw. i also think that I’m prob gonna keep a distance from the fandom for a while cause some of you really showed your true colors and were fucking annoying and disrespectful lol
here’s these also cause I feel like they’re my best phrasing of some of my gripes, these are just my personal takes and are charged with how annoyed I was earlier so I apologize if they’re also blunt I just want to be more clear on what my stance was and why

I think some people forget that some literature and some media is meant to be deeply uncomfortable and unsettling. It’s meant to make you have a very visceral reaction to it. If you genuinely can’t handle these stories then you are under no obligation to consume them but acting as if they have no purpose or as if people don’t have a right to tell these stories, stories that often relate to the darkest or most disturbing parts of life, then you should do some introspection.

“shipping and blorbofication are not inherently at odds with understanding a story’s deep themes” and “some people can’t grasp the themes of a story because they never learned how to engage with stories outside of the lens of shipping and blorbofication” are two statements that can coexist

I think Shane was on the verge of tears in that video and I can’t even imagine how Ryan and Steven must be feeling inside since they suffer from terrible anxiety. I hate this fandom so much.
i wouldn’t be surprised if they never trusted us with anything ever again. we have enjoyed unparalleled access and availability from the founders and their staff and the thanks they received was for a loud, shitty part of the fandom to react like they’d killed babies live on camera over a business decision that was a choice they made in order to keep themselves afloat so that they could continue to pay their staff and not lay anyone off.
i truly am detested by the things i have seen this weekend, from people who i thought were rational, normal human beings and instead turned into rabid, frothing animals at the prospect of having to financially support creators they profess to love and cherish.
it’s just fucking sickening and i think i will not be over this for a while.
Music fans reblog this with an album you consider “your” album… one that is part of your personality, one that means a lot to you, or just one you really like… Mine is The Perfect Shade of Green by Skittish :>

i’m obsessed with benedick and beatrice and the fact that he trusts her. claudio refuses to believe that hero is innocent no matter what she says. no one believes her, even leonato immediately takes claudio’s word, a man who he has known for a few days, over his own daughter’s. and beatrice knows it’s a lie but no one believes her because the word of a woman means nothing. but benedick believes her. he doesn’t know hero that well, he has no evidence to prove that she is innocent, but he knows she is because beatrice says so, and he trusts her - more than he trusts even claudio, his “sworn brother”. the contrast between claudio’s “proof” destroying his trust in hero, and benedick trusting beatrice no matter what, even though he has no proof
Yes, Benedict choosing to stand with Hero is one of the crucial points of this play. And I love that even before he has Beatrice’s oath that Hero’s innocent, and the Friar’s corroboration, he’s having doubts. He doesn’t leave when the Prince and Claudio do. When Leonato goes on a horrible rant where he loudly tells his own daughter that she’d be better off dead than dishonoured, Benedick says:
“Sir, sir, be patient: for my part, I am so attired in wonder, I know not what to say.”
As in, he’s not sure that Hero’s innocent, but he’s also not sure that she’s guilty, and so instead of yelling at her horribly, we should try to find out what is actually going on. His admission that he doesn’t know what the fuck is going on is proof of great wisdom and integrity from a guy who spend the first half of this play acting like an absolute class clown.
Right! He’s the only one who asks How doth the lady? It’s why I love him so much.
